With summer on the horizon, independent craft brewer Tribe had struck a partnership with Coles. Their task: produce a competitively priced, mid-strength beer to be exclusively stocked at First Choice Liquor. Our task: create a brand identity for it that appealed to your everyday young Aussie bloke unfamiliar with craft beer.
The name Buckethead was inspired by Ned Kelly’s iconic homemade helmet, with the bright sand bucket visuals adding a lighthearted, summer-y spin. The tone of voice was similarly humorous; reminiscent of the banter between friends hanging out in the sun, can in hand.
